I work for myself.

While true, in reality, it means the exact opposite. I work for my clients. I delivery results for them or I fail.

Philosophy

I am a doer.

When you hire an expert, you should get an expert. Your account should not be shuffled down the org chart to the lowest, capable person.

Freelancing is the purest form of business. No internal bureaucracy, no time wasted on administrative burdens (RIP staff meetings). Instead, you get a true transparent partnership, with accountability & results.

I am a professional.

To move rapidly and strategically through a competitive industry, real experts hire real experts.

Once we are aligned on our goals, I will shoulder the burden of strategy & execution for your paid media. This allows you to focus your attention on other areas of business growth.

Businesses take on the personality of their team. When it is a company of one, that personality shines through even brighter. To give you a better sense of working with me, here are a few commonly asked questions.

FAQs

What advertising networks do you manage?

I have extensive experience with Google Ads (Search, Display, YouTube), Facebook, Instagram, Microsoft Ads, Apple Search, Amazon, & LinkedIn.

What kind of communication should we expect?

Timely & clear communication, with a preference towards asynchronous communication. In addition to our monthly reporting calls, we communicate regularly through email and often share a Slack channel, too. While I won’t be in your office, it should feel like I’m just down the hall.

So really, what kind of communication should we expect?

I respond to quick emails quickly. However, it is normal for me to take 1-2 days to reply to emails that require thought & analysis. IMO, our culture of immediacy and the constant fragmentation of time are not conducive for good work (or with the kind of life I lead).

How do you balance assumptions & testing?

When reconciling the tension between testing and assuming, I error on the side of testing. When unsure, let the data speak for itself. The goal is to achieve a statistically significant result so we can move forward with confidence.

What does your ideal partnership look like?

Partnerships typically work best with open communication and mutual trust. If you do not trust me (or if I do not trust you), we are destined to fail.

How do I reserve your capacity?

As a company of one, I have limited capacity. I am not trying to grow a big agency - just super-serve a small number of businesses. As such, I carve out capacity for those with whom I have a signed agreement. First-come, first-serve.

As a freelancer, are you going to flake on us?

I did not become a freelancer by accident. This is my chosen profession, I absolutely love my work, and I am not going anywhere. Subsequently, I am not secretly looking for a full-time gig, nor do I have plans to skip town as soon as things get comfortable. I take my work seriously and thus will take your work seriously, too.

What do you charge?

I operate through a traditional retainer model, with rates fluctuating based on the size & complexity of the work. Most of my clients fall into three broad buckets. We would agree on a scope of work for each month and a predictable rate. No surprise invoices or unpredictable costs.

Plus, as an independent, my overhead is virtually nonexistent. Subsequently, I am able to keep my rates very reasonable.

What is the first step?

For clients who are getting started with PPC advertising, I will recommend a keyword research project. The purpose of this project is to outline the full opportunity available to you on Google Ads and other major networks. From there, we can collaboratively prioritize our focus to make the most of our ad spend budget.

If you are already running advertising, I can step in where ever the previous team left off. Contact me to discuss the unique details of your situation.
